Kaya FC-Iloilo will begin their 2021 AFC Champions League group stage campaign as they take on BG Pathum United today at 6 in the evening.
Fresh off a stunning victory against Shanghai Port FC to advance to the current round of the Champions league, Kaya head coach Graham Harvey stressed to his boys that the job is still not done.
Kaya was able to hold ground against the surging Shanghai football squad off the heroics of defender Audi Menzi after converting on the lone goal of the match that proved to be the game- winner for the Iloilo-based team.
This time, Kaya will be facing a different beast in the next round of the Champions league. In the official press conference, coach Harvey said that after their recovery period against Shanghai, he immediately called the team back for another practice run at the pitch.
Aiming to devise a different game plan against a different opponent, Filipino Marwin Angeles said that they are already excited to set foot on the pitch once again and battle for the Filipinos.
Following their clash against BG Pathum is a showdown against Vietnamese champions Vyettel Football Club on June 29 and another one against Ulsan Hyundai of South Korea on July 2.
