Kaya FC-Iloilo will look to turn things around and devise their new plan of attack after selecting British orchestrator Graham Harvey as their newest head coach.
The Iloilo-based football squad announced their move following the news that Kaya FC will only need to take down Shanghai Port of China to advance to the AFC Champions League main draw.
This comes after the Asian Football Confederation announced the exit of the participating Australian clubs due to health and safety concerns amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Kaya FC was supposed to face Brisbane Roar before Shanghai Port but the Australian Federation’s sudden announcement forced the organizers to scrap the match.
With a new coach under their side, Kaya FC will seek to win the match against Shanghai and join the other elite clubs for the Champions League.
Harvey is a well-known football head coach in the Northern Premier League Queensland after steering the Western Pride Football Club to a championship way back in 2017.
From 10th place, the decorated coach was able to create an unbelievable atmosphere and culture for the team that turned them into champions.
After his coaching stint under Western Pride, Harvey then served as technical director of Redlands United Football Club in Queensland and was a key part in the recruitment and training of their youth players.
