BACOLOD City – A barangay official who was involved in a shooting incident in Barangay E. Lopez, Silay City, Negros Occidental on Dec 22, 2021 was released from police custody six days later after he posted bail.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Robert Petate, city police chief, said that Barangay IV Kagawad Ricky Duran, 52, posted a P200,000 bail for the frustrated murder charge filed against him.
Duran is accused of allegedly shooting his female companion following an argument inside his car in Barangay E. Lopez last week.
Prior to the shooting, both reportedly came from a drinking session along with two other persons.
Police have yet to determine the relationship of Duran and the 29-year-old victim, whose name was withheld.
The victim is now stable in a hospital. Duran has yet to be reached for comment.
