Kagawad arrested in PHP 1 million Lambunao drug bust

A village official was arrested in a police anti-narcotics operation on the afternoon of Dec. 29 in Lambunao, Iloilo.
Police identified the suspect only as alias Junjun, 51, a barangay kagawad of Barangay Jayobo, Lambunao.
Members of the Lambunao Municipal Police Station arrested him in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Jayobo.
Capt. Dandy Ilalto, Lambunao police chief, said police seized about 160 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated standard drug price of PHP 1,088,000.
Police said the operation was launched based on tips from concerned citizens in Lambunao.
After a month of validation, operatives said they confirmed the suspect’s involvement in illegal drug activity.
Police said he allegedly sourced drugs from Metro Manila and distributed them in Lambunao.
Junjun is in the custody of the Lambunao police station and will be charged with violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
