ROXAS CITY, Capiz– A former village councilor and three others were arrested in a drug sting operation conducted by the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit of the Capiz Police Provincial Office, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Pontevedra and Pilar Municipal Police Stations on Wednesday.
The raid was conducted in a house that allegedly served as a “drug den”at Barangay Tabuc, Pontevedra, Capiz.
Police identified the suspects as Ricardo Biclar, Jr., 39, a former barangay kagawad; Jeric Daliva; Remuel Mayo, 33; and Joselito Espurtuno, all of Pontevedra town.
Armed with a search warrant issued by Regional Trial Court (RTC) Executive Judge Ignacio Alajar, police recovered from Biclar’s house five sachets of suspected shabu, empty sachets and several drug paraphernalia.
Police also recovered two sachets of suspected shabu and drug paraphernalias from the house of Mayo; while several empty sachets of suspected shabu and several drug paraphernalia were recovered from the houses of Daliva and Esportuno.
Biclar’s house allegedly served as the drop point for illegal drugs while the three other suspects served as his “runners.”
The suspects were detained at Pontevedra Municipal Police Station and will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or Comprehensive Drugs Act of 2002.
