PBA’s only six-time Most Valuable Player awardee June Mar Fajardo is back with the San Miguel Beermen after the unexpected death of his mother Marites.
Fajardo already entered the PBA bubble in Don Honorio Ventura State University gym at Pampanga and is expected to grace SMB in all the scheduled games.
San Miguel’s team manager Gee Abanilla confirmed Fajardo’s presence with the team and added that the towering center already attended their team practices.
Still devastated by the sudden loss of his mother, Fajardo was always outspoken of him being a “mama’s boy” and would always call her whenever he was presented with his MVP award.
The Fajardo family chose not to disclose the specific cause of death but it was confirmed that Marites died in a local hospital in Cebu.
After weeks of being silent in his social media accounts, Fajardo is once again back posting his Instagram stories and is excited about the halted PBA season.
Fajardo is seeking to have a huge bounce-back season after coming out of a long-year drought due to his fractured tibia injury.
San Miguel is still playing their six-time MVP under minutes restriction but his previous games showed flashes of brilliance once again as he averaged a double-double.
