Ready to deliver a timeless statement in modern form after piling up half-a-billion streams and critical praise, RIAA-certified platinum pop singer and songwriter JOHN K presented his anxiously awaited full-length debut album, in case you miss me, on Monday.
He preceded the album with the release of “everything” earlier this month. Billboard named it one of “10 Cool New Pop Songs to Get You Through The Week” and went on to write, “the song muses on connection under extreme circumstance…JOHN K is too talented not to pull off the concept.”
“This body of work is truly an introduction to me,” says John K. “I’m putting out my favorite material. I’m just going to let the music do the talking.
Constructed with a grandiose vision in mind, he leveraged the talents of his day one creative trust— Donte Blaise, Rob Zarrilli, and Ian Gagnon— as well as executive producer MIDI Jones and co-producer Wynne. A true team effort, the album illuminates the diverse scope of his fluid, focused, and fiery signature style. The title track “in case you miss me” hinges on a throwback vocal sample and unshakable hook. Meanwhile, the opener “different” sets the tone with ethereal guitar and an irresistible chorus. At the same time, he gets raw on the likes of “shadows” where his emotionally charged delivery immediately takes hold.
Further emphasizing the small-knit environment of where the music was born through the past year, he adds, “This is probably more of a team effort than ever. We found a totally new sound that we’d never done before. We broke into new territory. We wanted to show a ton of growth. It’s a little more mature, but still timeless. The coolest part about that is we’ve done it all together. I’m surrounded by a group of guys who I love the most in the whole world, and we’re tirelessly working together to make the best music we possibly can for the rest of our lives.”

Earlier this year, he dropped “ilym” [feat. ROSIE] as well as collaborated with DJ titan Don Diablo on their track “Problems.” Meanwhile, he has received acclaim from Billboard, Rolling Stone and more.
