Leading online job platform Jobstreet by SEEK has partnered with SmartCT and FilPass to advance the Filipino workforce’s AI readiness and employability through free artificial intelligence learning and upskilling.
The tripartite partnership, sealed through a Memorandum of Understanding signing, supports the ASEAN Foundation’s AI Ready ASEAN Programme, a regional initiative that aims to empower job seekers with digital and AI literacy in an evolving digital economy.
The partnership comes as demand for AI competency in the Philippine workforce continues to rise.
A recent report from Jobstreet by SEEK found that 72 percent of businesses in the Philippines now consider candidates with AI knowledge when hiring, with 36 percent of companies viewing AI knowledge as highly important.
Jobstreet by SEEK identified three critical barriers to building a future-ready workforce: a skills-to-jobs disconnect, an AI skills gap, and challenges around trust and credential verification.
Each partner in the tripartite arrangement plays a distinct role in addressing these barriers.
SmartCT, designated by the ASEAN Foundation, will deliver free specialized AI literacy training, modules, and curriculum to learners.
Upon successful completion of the program, FilPass — the national strategic partner of SmartCT — will issue tamper-proof, verifiable digital certificates using its specialized technology, serving as secure proof of AI competence in the recruitment process.
AI Ready ASEAN-certified candidates can upload their verified credentials to SEEK Pass, Jobstreet by SEEK’s digital career passport, integrating the credentials directly into candidates’ profiles on the job platform.
The integration is designed to help candidates stand out while enabling employers to identify qualified talent more efficiently, with credential verification linked directly to candidate profiles for enhanced security and hirer recognition.
“SEEK Pass is one of Jobstreet by SEEK’s recent innovations designed to help Filipino job seekers stand out in a changing world of work. Through this platform, we at Jobstreet by SEEK aim to support the AI Ready ASEAN Programme by helping learners gain a clear path to meaningful opportunities,” said Dannah Majarocon, Managing Director of Jobstreet by SEEK.
SmartCT is a technology non-government organization specializing in digital transformation and the empowerment of youth, women, MSMEs, and local governments across the Asia Pacific.
FilPass is a document issuance and verification system that creates and stores digital credentials for individuals, providing trusted proof of their skills.
The Department of Education (DepEd) also graced the MOU signing, recognizing the partnership’s role in equipping Filipino candidates with AI literacy.
DepEd noted that the initiative aligns with PROJECT AGAP.AI, the department’s commitment to providing learners, teachers, and stakeholders with access to innovative learning tools that leverage artificial intelligence.
