BACOLOD CITY — A 56-year-old jobless woman was arrested in a buy-bust operation that allegedly yielded PHP 884,000 worth of suspected shabu in Purok Kagaykay, Barangay 2, early Wednesday morning.
The operation, led by the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), resulted in the seizure of approximately 130 grams of suspected shabu from the suspect, identified only as alias “Nang.”
Police classified the suspect, a resident of Barangay 2, as a high-value individual and said she is listed in the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC) watchlist.
According to the Police Regional Office–Negros Island Region (PRO–NIR), she was allegedly involved in illegal drug activities in Barangays 2, 3, and Banago, based on reports from a confidential informant.
The suspect is currently detained at Police Station 2.
PRO–NIR said every intelligence effort, surveillance activity, and law enforcement operation reflects the agency’s determination to dismantle drug networks that threaten the safety and stability of Negros Island.
“No individual involved in illegal drugs, regardless of status, location, or history, will be beyond the reach of law enforcement,” PRO–NIR said in a statement.
