ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A 22-year-old jobless person is facing robbery case for allegedly stealing a sacristan’s (church assistant) money and cellphone inside a chapel early Tuesday morning, at Brgy. Jaena Norte Jamindan, Capiz.
Police identified the victim as Mark Ervin Ucag, 19, student and resident of said village while the suspect was Kieven Vacaro, 22, and resident of Brgy. Jaena Sur also in Jamindan.
Based on police investigation, the incident happened around 2am when Vacaro entered the chapel where Ucag was sleeping inside a room.
But Ucag was awakened and saw Vacaro walking towards the door of the chapel.
When he checked his bag placed on a table, he found that his cellphone and P5,000 cash were missing.
Ucag hurriedly went out from the chapel and ran Vacaro whom he managed to capture.
The victim then turned over the suspect to the police.
