ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A laborer was arrested Monday evening, May 25, for allegedly possessing an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
Armed with a search warrant, President Roxas police searched the house of alias John, 27, at Sitio Hacienda, Barangay Cabug-Cabug, President Roxas, Capiz.
Police recovered one .45-caliber Armscor pistol and a magazine loaded with 14 live rounds of ammunition from the suspect.
Police said the operation was conducted following complaints from residents that the suspect had been carrying a firearm while roaming around the village.
The suspect is under the custody of the President Roxas Municipal Police Station.
Charges for violating Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, will be filed against him.
