Despite the training and schedule restrictions brought by COVID-19, Filipino boxer Jerwin Ancajas is all set to defend his belt for the ninth time.
The IBF super flyweight champion is not bothered by the flight delays or the change of venue regarding his training, saying that he is already 95 percent ready and is just wrapping up his routine in the next few weeks.
Stepping in as a challenger is Mexican Jonathan Javier Rodriguez. Considered to be one of the hardest punchers in the weight class, Rodriguez will try to break Ancajas’ title defense streak.
For Ancajas, his tight training routine matched with his tremendous conditioning exercises will be his edge in the game, saying that he can go all out for 12 rounds, a weakness the Mexican displayed in his past matches.
But one thing is for sure, the PH slugger will have to be careful if he chooses to fight toe-to-toe with the Mexican, as Rodriguez thrives in a slugfest type of match.
If all is clear and if there will be no delays regarding Manny Pacquiao (MP) promotions’ plans, then Ancajas and his team will move to the United States for the last leg of his training.
