Jerwin Ancajas continues to intensify training despite postponement

Even the enhanced community quarantine can’t stop International Boxing Federation super flyweight champion Jerwin Ancajas from continuing his usual training regimen.

Despite the postponement of his ninth title defense which was originally scheduled on Sunday, April 12, 2020 (Philippine time), Ancajas and head trainer Joven Jimenez continue to intensify their training to not lose track of their main goal.

With no final date of his main title bout against hard-hitting Mexican Jonathan Javier Rodriguez, Ancajas and his camp chose not to take a week off and kept their training pace.

Jimenez also said that they sought the supervision of a dietician, Jeaneth Aro, and is strictly following the meal plan designed for him to build the desired shape they want for the fight.

Ancajas’ diet is mostly comprised of a high-protein fish diet with vegetables and fruits, which are all available within Ancajas’ place in Barangay Ramirez, Magallanes, Cavite.

Near Ancajas’ home, there’s a small improvised pond where they get their daily supply of Tilapia while fruits and vegetable crops are around the vicinity.

Also, Ancajas’ camp has an abundant supply of native pigs and free-range chickens, adding that they are not running out of eggs.

Jimenez is just excited about the upcoming fight where he already feels that Ancajas is ready to go and clash with the Mexican.

MP (Manny Pacquiao) promotions president Sean Gibbons will inform them right away if the title fight will be pushed through this June amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
