BACOLOD CITY – In a fatal outcome driven by jealousy, a man murdered his girlfriend’s lover in Barangay Zone 14-A, Talisay City, Negros Occidental, last Saturday.
The police reported the victim to be 28-year-old Jaylord Lamag from the same locality. Police Major Wilfredo Benoman Jr., the deputy chief of Talisay City Police Station, detailed that the incident occurred while the victim and his live-in partner were asleep at home and were disturbed by the barking of dogs.
The alleged assailant, a 40-year-old male, is accused of shooting Lamag in the nape before escaping the scene.
Despite being rushed to the hospital, Lamag succumbed to his injuries. The suspect was later apprehended in Barangay Dos Hermanas found hiding at a friend’s residence.
Authorities have announced that murder charges are pending against the suspect.
