Jannik Sinner marches to the 2024 Australian Open fourth round

World no. 4 ranked male tennis player Jannik Sinner continued his flawless run in the ongoing Australian Open after sweeping Argentine foe Sebastian Baez- 6.0, 6.1, 6.3- last January 19, 2024, held in Melbourne, Australia.

In front of his fans in the Margaret Court Arena, the young Italian stalwart dominated Baez and pulled off one of his most convincing victories in the ongoing Grand Slam tournament.

From the get-go, Sinner quickly turned the match into a one-sided offensive showcase as he scored his points in a variety of ways that put the crowd on their feet.

After clinching a 3-0 lead with a booming service ace followed by a sweet drop shot on the right side of the net, Sinner didn’t stop his court mastery and bullied Baez in the baseline with his heavy forehand strokes.

Aside from his unique and aggressive style of attack, Sinner also showed his composure after Baez nearly scored a service break possession.

Despite Baez’s defensive strategy in the second set, Sinner didn’t slow down and even stepped on the gas pedal, making things hard for the Argentine.

Sinner saved his best for last and scored several down-the-line bombs in the third set while ending the last three possessions with a net cover.

In just nearly two hours of play, Sinner amassed a total of 88 points won while also scoring a 77% win rate on the first service.

Sinner also gathered seven break points won in the service department and failed to commit a single double fault error.

Before blanking Baez, Sinner swept Botic van de Zandsculp and Jesper De Jong during his first two scheduled rounds in the Grand Slam competition.
