When it rains, it pours.
Filipino virtual kata great James De Los Santos ruled another international tournament to rack up his gold medal collection to 10 in just a span of three months this year.
De Los Santos is still the world no.1 and reigned supreme in the Shotokan style during the second leg of the E-kata World Series for his 46th gold overall in his career.
The two-time Southeast Asian Games bronze medalist was laser-focused entering the tourney and faced familiar top-seeded threats in his quest to conquer Shotokan.
De Los Santos was able to get past veteran Matias Moreno Dormont in the semifinals and got the better of South African Silvio Cerone-Biagoni in the finals matchup.
Both Dormont and Biagoni are two of the main rivals of De Los Santos who always stood in his way either in the semifinals or the finals of every international tourney he joined.
With his recent win, De Los Santos will retain his world no.1 ranking.
Previously, De Los Santos also dominated the E-kata World Series leg 1 and already boosted his points to take care of his top spot until December 2021.
