Jailed for drug peddling, trike driver also faces robbery rap

A tricycle driver who is detained for an illegal drugs offense has found himself in a deeper legal quandary.
A week after he was arrested in a buy-bust operation, Rundy Terante was served with an arrest warrant for robbery.
The 27-year-old suspect, a resident of Barangay Poblacion South, Oton, Iloilo, is one of the respondents in a case of robbery by the use of force upon things docketed as Criminal Case No. 22-88144.
Judge Redentor Eugenio Esperanza of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 22 in Iloilo issued the arrest warrant on Nov. 16, 2022.
Bail for his temporary liberty was set at P72,000.
Corporal Raymond Dollete, Oton police investigator, said the suspect was accused of stealing during the fire at the Oton Public Market in December 2021.
Terante was nabbed in a buy-bust operation on November 17 at Poblacion South, Oton.
Seized from him were six sachets of suspected shabu worth P20,400.
