Filipina basketball superstar Jack Animam isn’t done making history.
Fresh off her Women’s Chinese Basketball Association stint with the Wuhan Shengfan basketball club, the national team staple is ready to embark on a new international journey after signing with the Ringwood hoops franchise in the National Basketball League (NBL) of Australia.
It was the head coach of Ringwood, Mr. Jeremy O’Toole, who confirmed the latest development involving Animam’s future.
“We’re incredibly fortunate to bring Jack to Ringwood, we have been following her journey for a while now and really excited to finally have her here,” O’Toole said to The Philippine Times.
Before signing her contract with Wuhan Shengfan, Animam first flaunted her skills as an Asian import in Serbia and France.
Animam rendered her services in Serbia three years ago when she signed a contract with the basketball club Radnicki Kragujevac.
After her season in Serbia was done, the product of the National University (NU) Lady Bulldogs flew to France to play for the Toulouse Metropole Basket participating in the Ligue Feminine de Basketball (LFB).
Animam quickly became a star in Serbia in just three games, averaging a near triple-double against the best of the best centers in Central Europe.
Scouts instantly noticed her signature offensive skills despite her size and became one of the most reliable scorers for Radnicki Kragujevac.
Now that she will be playing under a new system in Australia, Animam is looking to remain consistent with her production to help the NBL1 team prosper when the season kicks off.
In China, Animam was also spectacular after becoming a double-double machine, averaging 11.4 points, 12.0 rebounds, and 2.1 steals with Wuhan.
