The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) will pursue administrative charges against the policeman who was caught in an illegal cockfight activity.
Major Nestor Bacuyag, IPPO spokesperson, said they would file administrative cases for grave misconduct and conduct unbecoming of a police officer against Patrolman Yollyric Paparon.
“We don’t tolerate such acts. And they should be held answerable for what they did,” Bacuyag said.
Paparon, 36, a resident of Barangay Cag-an, Anilao, Iloilo, was arrested on November 25 in
Banate, Iloilo but was released the following day after posting an P18,000 bailbond.
On Monday, he reported for duty at the Tubungan Municipal Police Station.
He is on restricted status. His issued firearm – a caliber .9mm pistol with one 1 magazine loaded with 17 live ammunition – was seized during his arrest.
The IPPO is set to issue an order for Paparon’s reassignment to the IPPO headquarters at Camp Sumagaysay in Sta. Barbara, Iloilo.
