The hierarchy of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) is hinting at the imminent reshuffling of station commanders soon.
Colonel Gilbert Gorero, Iloilo police chief, said the revamp of personnel is to be expected owing to the vacancies at the provincial headquarters.
For one, Gorero’s deputy for administration, Lieutenant Colonel Romar Peregil, is now on schooling, hence the necessity for the movement.
Peregil is taking up Public Safety Officers Senior Executive Course (PSOSEC), a mandatory schooling for his next rank.
Gorero underscored that the projected reshuffling takes into consideration the over-staying of six chiefs of police and those who are eligible for promotion to the next higher rank.
“Generally, chief of police must stay only for two years, and he/she will be scheduled for a new assignment,” he said.
The six station chiefs who completed their two-year stint are Majors Joeven Arevalo (Dumangas), Jogen Suegay (Lambunao), Raymond Celoso (Santa Barbara), Roy Tayona (Leganes), and Fernand Limbungan (Maasin); and Police Lieutenant Ma. Doreen Losaria (Badiangan).
As such, Gorero denied reports that Celoso will be relieved from post because of the Claire Diergos case.
“Even before it happened, he was already deliberated for relief,” he said.
Gorero said the Provincial Special Officer’s Promotion and Placement Board (PSOPPB) is taking charge as regards the evaluation of Police Commissioned Officers and recommendation as to their assignment.
