IPPO arrests seven fugitives in 24-hour crackdown

ILOILO CITY — Seven fugitives were arrested as the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) intensified its campaign against wanted persons.
The arrests were made during 24-hour operations conducted from 6 a.m. Oct. 1 to 5:59 a.m. Oct. 2.
Six of those arrested were classified as most wanted persons, while one was listed as an other wanted person.
Among those arrested was alias “Insek,” identified as the No. 7 regional most wanted person, who was apprehended by personnel of the Calinog Municipal Police Station (MPS) for two counts of statutory rape.
In Carles, police arrested alias “Marvin,” the No. 10 provincial most wanted person, for homicide.
The Leon MPS arrested alias “Joe,” tagged as the No. 1 municipal most wanted person, for alleged violation of Republic Act No. 9262, or the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004.
Meanwhile, the Sara MPS apprehended aliases “Tim” and “Jonathan,” classified as the municipality’s Nos. 5 and 7 most wanted persons, respectively.
In Passi City, police arrested a most wanted person charged with murder.
The Maasin MPS also apprehended one other wanted person.
IPPO Provincial Director Col. Bayani Razalan said police would continue to pursue wanted persons and ensure that those who evade the law are brought before the proper courts.
“Through close coordination with our stakeholders, we remain committed to keeping our communities safe,” he added.
Razalan said the operations against wanted persons underscored IPPO’s continuing commitment to maintaining peace and order and ensuring that individuals with standing warrants of arrest are brought before the courts through appropriate legal processes.
