BACOLOD City – Personnel of Hinoba-an Municipal Police Station in Negros Occidental are investigating the six employees of Rural Bank of Ilog branch in Barangay 1 Poblacion after its cash amounting to P1.3 million went missing.
Police Major Clifford Batadhay, Hinoba-an town police chief, said the bank employees discovered on Thursday morning that the roll up door of their bank was already open.
Batadhay said the perpetrator allegedly passed through the glass window of the bank which was believed to be left opened on Wednesday night.
Batadhay said the perpetrator probably knew the code of the cash vault, and the wire connection of the closed-circuit television (CCTV), as well as the bank’s security alarm, considering that there was no forcible entry.
“Nakibot sila pagka aga na bukas na ang roll up door,” Batadhay said, adding that the bank has no security guard.
Batadhay said the bank’s management is now coordinating with the police to determine if the incident was a case of “inside job.”
He also said they are gathering information from the bank employees to help them in the investigation.
