Inmate under quarantine escapes

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A 33-year-old inmate is being hunted after he escaped while under 14-day quarantine at the Ligtas COVID Center on the 3rd Floor of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) at Sitio Lonoy, Barangay Sta. Cruz in Dumalag, Capiz.
Police identified the inmate as Christopher Formalidad of Cabatuan, Iloilo who was charged for violation of Republic Act No. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
According to PSSg Wilhem C. Gervero, Dumalag Municipal Police Station investigator, they were conducting head count around 7 am Tuesday when they noticed one of the inmates was missing.
Gervero said Formalidad used the blankets to scale down from the room where he was quarantined.
Inmates remitted to the BJMP must undergo quarantine for 14 days.
