BACOLOD City – Police have yet to establish the motive behind the gun attack against an Indian national in Barangay Poblacion 2, Sagay City, Negros Occidental last Sunday.
The victim was identified as Mandeep Singh, 42, of Barangay Poblacion 1.
Based on the investigation, Singh was sitting at the counter area of his store when an unidentified man who pretended to be a customer took a pair of slippers.
But when the supposed customer went to the counter to pay for the item, he allegedly shot the victim twice and fled on board a motorcycle along with an unidentified driver-companion.
Singh suffered gunshot wounds in the face and hand. He is confined in a hospital here.
Police recovered from the crime scene two .45 caliber ammunition shells and a pair of slippers.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Jonel Guadalupe, city police chief, said the incident was captured by a closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera installed inside the store.
