Indian national jailed for rape freed

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A 27-year-old Indian national who was arrested last September 8, 2021 in his house for alleged sexual molestation of a lady employee was released from police custody on Oct 13, 2021.
Navjot Singh of Brgy. Poblacion Norte in Ivisan, Capiz was freed after the complainant’s family withdrew the charges for two counts of rape filed against him.
Singh was arrested last month by officers of the PNP-Anti Kidnapping Group and Ivisan Municipal Police Station.
Major Nestor Aceboche, team leader of PNP-AKG, said Singh and his fellow Indian national were charged for allegedly raping a lady worker of their lending company inside an apartment at Brgy. Mongpong here.
The other suspect has returned to India.
Judge Lorenzito Diaz of the Regional Trial Court Branch 17 in Roxas City issued the arrest warrant on April 5, 2021.
