One of Iloilo province’s most wanted fugitives was arrested in Marilao, Bulacan, just a day before Christmas.
The suspect, identified only as “Jhe,” 34, was apprehended by members of the Carles Municipal Police Station at 12:30 p.m. on Dec. 24 at his residence in Barangay Prenza 1, Marilao.
Jhe was wanted for two counts of rape by carnal knowledge.
The arrest was carried out based on a warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 71 in Barotac Viejo, Iloilo, on March 11, 2024.
No bail was recommended for his provisional release.
According to police records, Jhe ranks as the fifth most wanted person in Iloilo province.
Major Sonny Boy Garnace, chief of Carles police, confirmed that the case was filed in 2024.
While details were not disclosed, Garnace said the complainant is a minor.
The suspect is currently in police custody and will be turned over to the issuing court for proper disposition.
