The most wanted person in Iloilo province was arrested Nov 4, 2020 in Janiuay, Iloilo.
Renato Aprovechar Jr., 35, of Sitio Asinan, Barangay Jibolo, Janiuay, was arrested two days after one of his co-accused was also collared.
Personnel from the Janiuay Police Station, the PNP Regional Intelligence Division, Iloilo Police Provincial Office-Provincial Intelligence Unit (IPPO-PIU), and the 603rd Company of the Regional Mobile Force Company 6 joined forces to collar Aprovechar.
Aprovechar is the subject of a murder case docketed as Criminal Case No.19-84390.
Regional Trial Court Branch 31 Judge Gemalyn Faunillo Tarol ordered his arrest on Oct 2, 2019 with no bail recommended.
Colonel Gilbert Gorero, Iloilo police chief, said Aprovechar, along with five others, were charged for the murder of a barangay tanod (village watchman) in 2016.
His three co-accused were already arrested.
Prior to Aprovechar’s arrest, police nabbed his fellow accused Jerry Cantoria, 50, also a resident of Barangay Jibolo.
Cantoria, the second most wanted man, was arrested morning of Nov 2 at Poblacion, Bingawan town.
