The province of Iloilo is eyeing to vaccinate a total of 338,716 individuals during the three-day national vaccination drive on November 29 to December 1, 2021.
In a press release, Provincial Health Officer Dr. Maria Socorro C. Quiñon said they hope to administer 112,905 vaccines daily to reach the target.
The province will deploy additional 381 vaccination teams, 1,143 health care workers, and 172 vaccination sites.
The top 10 LGUs with the highest three-day targets are Oton (15,924); City of Passi (15,136); Carles (14,247); Lambunao (13,748); Dumangas (13,030); Miagao (12,572); Tigbauan (12,228); Janiuay (11,468): Calinog (11,331); and Pototan (11,203).
In his speech during the kickoff of the booster vaccination at West Visayas State University on Nov 22, 2021, Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. appealed to the eligible population to get vaccinated as the province has enough supply of vaccines.
He added that there is no need to choose the type of vaccine as each brand has been proven effective against COVID-19.
The governor also stressed that as more people get vaccinated, the less restrictive the protocols will be.
“Our health protocols are inversely proportional with our vaccination programs,” Defensor said.
The governor is set to issue a memorandum with the city and municipal mayors to seek their support in the three-day massive vaccination drive.
The national government eyes to inoculate 15 million individuals during the National Vaccination Days.
As of November 22, Iloilo Province has fully vaccinated a total of 490,171 individuals or 34% of the target eligible population. A total of 695,535 (48%) received their first dose.
The provincial government needs to vaccinate 1,448,757 individuals to achieve herd immunity.
