More than PHP 23 million in infrastructure upgrades are underway at the Iloilo Sports Complex as the provincial government moves to improve sports facilities and services for athletes and the public.
The redevelopment program includes a PHP 9.3 million roof over the tennis court, a PHP 7.6 million administration building, a PHP 5 million generator set, PHP 1 million in track oval repairs, and a PHP 700,000 water tank for the indoor swimming pool.
The Iloilo Sports Complex is located in Barangay Magsaysay Village, La Paz, Iloilo City, and serves as one of the province’s main venues for athletic training, competitions, and sports-related activities.
According to the Iloilo Sports Development and Management Office, the projects are targeted for completion and operation before the end of 2026.
ISDMO chief Ma. Janelyn Fundal said the projects mark a significant milestone for the office and the province’s sports development efforts.
“These facilities will bring personality to the ISDMO as we serve the clientele to the best that we could,” Fundal said.
She added that the upgrades represent a long-held aspiration that became possible through the support of Iloilo Gov. Arthur “Toto” Defensor Jr.
The improvements are expected to enhance the functionality of the Iloilo Sports Complex and support broader efforts to strengthen sports development in the province.
