TRIGGER WARNING: SUICIDE
Depression and family relations are still some of the reasons for suicide incidents in Iloilo province.
On June 2, the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) recorded two more suicide deaths in the neighboring towns of Cabatuan and Janiuay.
The victims were a 27-year-old man from Cabatuan and a 33-year-old victim from Janiuay.
The IPPO said it has recorded 37 suicide incidents in the province so far this year.
Majority of the victims are males while almost half were 17 to 39 years old.
While there appeared to be a variety of reasons for these incidents, most victims were believed to be suffering from depression.
Some were admonished by the parents of their loved ones while others were suffering from terminal illness.
The Department of Health has constantly reminded those who have problems or those who knew individuals who are at risk of committing suicides that they could seek help mental health crisis intervention:
