Iloilo police seize PHP 727,600 suspected shabu

A newly identified high-value drug suspect was arrested in an anti-illegal drug operation early evening of June 13 in Lemery, Iloilo.

Police identified the suspect as alias Excer, 48, a resident of the NHA Pabahay in Barangay Gogo, Estancia.

Members of the Lemery Municipal Police Station, together with the Iloilo Police Provincial Office-Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, IPPO Provincial Intelligence Unit, and 2nd Iloilo Provincial Mobile Force Company, arrested the suspect in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Poblacion South East Zone, Lemery.

Police said the suspect was arrested after he allegedly sold a sachet of suspected shabu for PHP 6,500.

Following his arrest, police seized four more sachets of suspected shabu.

Police also confiscated his Rusi Macho TC150 motorcycle.

Capt. John Robles, Lemery police chief, said the seized suspected illegal drugs weighed about 107 grams and had a standard drug price of PHP 727,600.

Robles said the suspect was arrested after a two-week surveillance operation.

He said the suspect allegedly sourced his supply from another drug personality based in Estancia.

Police said the suspect allegedly acted as a runner and dropped off drug supplies in several towns in Iloilo’s 5th District.

Reports showed that the suspect had no previous drug-related arrest.

The suspect is detained and will face charges for violation of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

RA 9165 penalizes the sale, trading, delivery, distribution, transportation, and possession of dangerous drugs in the Philippines.
