Iloilo PNP has 29 active COVID-19 cases

The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) recorded 29 active Covid-19 infections among its personnel.
The 29 are part of 113 IPPO personnel who contracted the virus since July 2020. It also recorded 84 recoveries and zero death.
The active cases are from 10 police stations, the IPPO headquarters at Camp Sumagaysay, Sta. Barbara, and the 1st Iloilo Provincial Mobile Force Company based in Tigbauan town.
San Rafael Police Station logged the most number of active cases with 7 and Tigbauan Police Station with 5.
New Lucena PNP has 4 active cases, Sta. Barbara PNP with 3; and Dingle and Tubungan with 3 each.
One active case was recorded at IPPO headquarters, 1st IPMFC headquarters, and the police stations of Carles, Leon, Mina, and Oton,
Colonel Gilbert Gorero, Iloilo police chief, said that 15 officers have mild symptoms while the remaining 14 are asymptomatic.
All of them are isolated at the quarantine facilities in their respective towns.
Gorero also said that disinfection of concerned police stations has already been conducted.
“We assure the public that basic police services, like issuance of police clearance, will not be hampered just because some personnel were infected by the virus,” he said.
Gorero also reminded the chiefs of police not to lower their guards against the virus.
Latest records showed that only 14.45 percent of Iloilo cops have been inoculated with COVID-19 vaccine.
Of the total 2,110 police personnel, only 305 were vaccinated.
