The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) was a finalist in the recently-concluded 2nd BGen. Rafael T. Crame Balangay Awards.
Police Colonel Paul Kenneth Lucas, IPPO officer-in-charge, received the consolation prize of P200,000 and a plaque of appreciation during the awarding ceremony on Feb. 17, 2020 at Camp Crame, Quezon City.
The Public Safety Savings and Loans Association, Incorporated (PSSLAI), in partnership with the Association of the Chiefs of Police of the Philippines, Inc., and in cooperation with the Philippine National Police through the Directorate for Police Community Relations and the Police Community Affairs and Development Group, bestowed the Balangay Awards to deserving Police Provincial Offices/City Police Offices, Municipality Police Stations and City Police Stations.
It is an annual search recognizing provincial, municipal, and city police offices “for their exceptional and outstanding significant accomplishments and contributions to the intensified campaign against illegal drugs, corruption, terrorism, and all forms of crime, up to the grassroots – barangays, giving emphasis in strengthening the bridge of cooperation of the police with the community it serves and protects.”
Lucas has credited former IPPO chief, Police Colonel Roland Vilela, and the rest of the IPPO community for the recognition.
IPPO is the onto police unit of Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) that made it to the finals.
The Iloilo PNP made it to the finals for bringing itself closer to the community
In previous years, Iloilo PNP consistently emerged as the best provincial police office in the field of police-community relations.
Lucas said they grateful to the Ilonggo community for their support of the PNP programs and activities.
