Eduardo P. Robles Jr., a native of Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo, has been promoted to senior undersecretary of the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development as the agency continues to implement housing policy, urban development planning, and government shelter initiatives nationwide.
The promotion places Robles among the department’s top officials as DHSUD continues to implement housing policy, urban development planning, and government shelter initiatives nationwide.
As senior undersecretary, Robles joins the department’s core leadership responsible for supporting the secretary in overseeing program execution, aligning policy priorities, and strengthening coordination with partner agencies and local governments.
DHSUD is tasked with coordinating national housing programs, regulating the real estate sector, and working closely with local government units on urban development concerns, including resettlement, land use planning, and socialized housing. These areas often require coordination among national agencies, city and municipal governments, and private sector partners.
Robles’ promotion comes as housing remains a major policy issue, with government efforts focused on expanding access to affordable homes, improving project delivery, and integrating housing development with transport, employment centers, and essential services.
Before joining DHSUD, Robles held several roles in government and government-linked institutions, with work spanning administrative management, governance support, and inter-office coordination. He previously served as executive assistant for administration and finance at the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, where he handled administrative and fiscal management functions.
He also worked as a consultant for the Development Academy of the Philippines, providing technical and advisory support on governance and administrative matters, and served as a consultant for the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation with similar responsibilities supporting administrative and governance needs.
In another government role, Robles served as special assistant to a presidential adviser, a post that involved coordination with government offices on policy and administrative concerns.
With his promotion, Robles takes on expanded responsibilities within DHSUD’s senior leadership as the department continues advancing shelter programs and urban development planning across the country.
