Iloilo MSME taps AI to level up business
ILOILO CITY — An entrepreneur assisted by the Department of Trade and Industry’s Iloilo Provincial Office shared his digital transformation journey during an executive panel discussion at AI Connect 2026 on Aug. 4 at the Iloilo Convention Center.
The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry Iloilo Chapter organized the forum as part of AI Fest 2026.
The event brought together business leaders, entrepreneurs, and micro, small, and medium enterprises to explore practical applications of artificial intelligence in improving productivity, driving innovation, and supporting business growth.
AI Fest 2026, held Aug. 3–5, featured conferences, exhibitions, workshops, policy discussions, and other activities focused on AI research, innovation, and adoption.
During the panel discussion, entrepreneur Raniel Tabasin shared how AI has improved his business operations through content creation, marketing, workflow efficiency, and decision-making.
Tabasin emphasized that although AI is a powerful business tool, human creativity and strategic thinking remain essential to its effective use.
The forum also featured keynote speaker Kristel Villanueva-Libunao, executive director of SmartCT and an implementing partner of AI Ready ASEAN.
Villanueva-Libunao encouraged organizations to embrace AI as a practical tool for innovation and sustainable growth.
Tabasin’s participation highlighted DTI Iloilo’s continuing efforts to help MSMEs adopt digital technologies, strengthen their competitiveness, and thrive in an increasingly technology-driven business environment.
