The Iloilo Kisela Knights are back to their winning ways after taking down Toledo and Cebu on day 6 of the Professional Chess Association of the Philippines (PCAP) season II “Wesley So Cup Conference”.
Flashes of season one was evident on day 6 as Iloilo dictated the tempo and pace of the full match and went for the kill.
The Kisela Knights started the day with a stellar outing against Cebu, 15-6, and finished the day with another win against Toledo, 18.5-2.5.
Iloilo’s GM Joey Antonio was the star of the night after clinching a notable win against Cebu’s import, FM Pompoong and two draws against Toledo’s import, GM Amir Bagheri.
Cherry Ann Mejia, Cesar Mariano, and NM John Michael Silvederio also stepped up big time to help Iloilo with their back-to-back win.
The Kisela Knights will seek to maintain their hot streak and will try to clinch the no. 1 spot in the Southern Division.
As of now, Iloilo is sitting at the no. 3 spot behind Camarines and Cordova but is leading in terms of total points with 163.
