The Iloilo Kisela Knights went for a 1-1 record in day 5 of the Professional Chess Association of the Philippines (PCAP) season II “Wesley So Cup Conference”.
The Kisela Knights started hot, crushing the Lapu-Lapu City Naki Warriors, 18-3.
The Kisela Knights continued to ride on their momentum and made sure to get the better of the struggling Lapu-Lapu team.
Iloilo only dropped two total playing boards out of the 14, one in the Rapid category and one in the Blitz.
However, in the second round of day 5, Camarines was able to outlast Iloilo and deal them their third loss of the tournament, 13-8.
It was a tightly-contested Blitz category as both teams weren’t able to clinch the commanding lead due to the close score.
The Soaring Eagles then answered the call and prevailed over the tough Iloilo squad in the Rapid category after winning four straight playing boards.
With the split, Iloilo is currently seated at the no. 4 spot of the Southern Division with a 6-3 win-loss record.
