The Iloilo Kisela Knights split two of their matches during the Day 6 of the Professional Chess Association of the Philippines (PCAP) tournament.
Entering Day 6 with confidence from a dominant Day 5, the Iloilo-based chess players crushed Iriga in their first match, 16-5.
The Kisela Knights lost only one playing board during the Rapid category and scored a decent 5 during the Blitz category.
GM Joey Antonio Jr. led the Kisela Knights in sweeping both the Blitz and the Rapid playing boards.
However, Iloilo’s winning streak was put to a halt after their second tournament defeat against the Mindoro Tamaraws.
It was a nip-and-tuck affair once again as the talented players from Mindoro came to play and provided the much-needed strategies against Iloilo.
At the end of both the Rapid and Blitz categories, the Tamaraws only led by just one point to nip the Kisela Knights, 10-11.
Iloilo vows to bounce back on February 6. They are set in the losing column against the Caloocan Loadmanna Knights in the first game and the Cagayan Kings in their last game.
