Iloilo hospitals top revenue contributors in 2024

Provincial and district hospitals emerged as the top contributors to Iloilo’s locally sourced revenue in 2024, according to the Provincial Treasurer’s Office.

During the awarding of top-performing municipalities on Nov. 14 at Zuri Hotel and Suites in Iloilo City, Provincial Treasurer Jean Maire Umadhay said that 50 percent of the province’s total local income came from its local economic enterprises.

These include 13 hospitals managed by the Hospital Management Office, which collectively generated PHP 656.8 million.

The hospitals were the biggest contributors to the province’s PHP 1.3 billion in locally sourced revenue, which also included real property tax, business tax, and fees and charges.

Real property tax was the second-largest revenue source, totaling PHP 438.8 million.

“Real property tax is the biggest tax revenue of the province. And it is with great pride that through strict RPT compliance and smart strategies, the province of Iloilo has been leading the way,” Umadhay said.

She credited local chief executives, provincial and municipal sanggunians, municipal treasurers, RPT focal persons, and local assessors for their support in strengthening collection efforts.

“This awarding ceremony is more than just about the plaques and the cash prizes. This is a celebration of how we, as key players in the field of local economic development, mark our impact to the society and to the future,” she added.

Vice Gov. Christine “Lee Ann” Debuque thanked taxpayers for fulfilling their obligations.

Provincial Administrator Raul Banias assured the public that locally sourced funds are properly managed.

• Best Performing e-SRE Focal Persons
• Top 10 Municipalities in Fiscal Administration
• Top 3 Municipalities in Year-on-Year Revenue Growth Rate
• Top 3 Municipalities in Fund Utilization
