The Iloilo provincial government has donated PHP 20.3 million for the rehabilitation of the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) water system and the implementation of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office’s (IPPO) 4As operation.
The donation was formalized through a memorandum of agreement and turnover of checks during the traditional Monday flag-raising and awarding ceremony at the PRO-6 headquarters in Iloilo City on Nov. 3.
Dr. Raul Banias, Iloilo provincial administrator, represented Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. during the MOA signing.
He was joined by Brig. Gen. Josefino Ligan, Western Visayas police chief, and Col. Bayani Razalan, Iloilo police chief.
It was reported that PHP 5 million will fund the rehabilitation of the PRO-6 water system, while PHP 15.3 million will support IPPO’s 4As operation—a program designed to enhance operational efficiency, logistical capacity, and community-based policing initiatives across the province.
During the ceremony, Banias cited the Philippine National Police (PNP), particularly PRO-6, for their unwavering commitment to maintaining peace and order in Iloilo.
“Let me take a moment to commend the Police Regional Office 6 for its profound success.
We thank you for your strong support to the Philippine Army and in the campaign against insurgency, which has resulted in the total dismantling of the CPP/NPA fronts in the whole of Panay.
This is a monumental achievement that has unlocked the province’s future,” Banias said.
He also praised the PNP for its relentless campaign against criminality and community threats.
“We commend our PNP in your sustained and continuous campaign against illegal drugs, with almost daily buy-bust operations.
Likewise, your sustained campaign against all forms of illegal activity continues to yield positive results, and we acknowledge your vigilance against external threats, particularly in territorial defense,” he added.
Banias pledged continued support to PRO-6, reaffirming the provincial government’s commitment to provide the necessary tools and resources to enhance police services.
“This is our pledge to you—we will provide the tools you need to secure our children’s future,” he said.
Meanwhile, Ligan reaffirmed PRO-6’s dedication to excellence, integrity, and service, anchored on the trust and confidence of the local government and people of Iloilo.
He said the MOA signing underscores the strong partnership between the PNP and the local government in promoting peace, security, and sustainable development in Iloilo and the rest of Western Visayas.
