Iloilo Designers Week has once again staged a gathering of talents in fashion with a week-long event held last November 18-24, 2019. The week-long fashion show by 19 local designers was held in Megaworld’s Festive Mall and culminated in a gala night held in Courtyard by Marriot, Iloilo.
Each designer exhibited a 10-piece collection that best represent their brand in segments labeled as Visions and Trends, Luxewear and Grand Allure.
The Gala Night was a colorful gathering of personalities and talents, made more special by two of the Philippines’ renowned designers: Barge Ramos, a master of “Barong Tagalog” and Mak Tumang, the man behind Catriona Gray’s iconic lava gown.
Iloilo Designers Week is an annual project of the Designers Guild of Iloilo headed by Jaki Peñalosa. It aims to give local designers a platform to showcase their work and yearns to promote the usage of local fabrics such as hablon.
