The province of Iloilo recorded PHP 1.3 billion in locally sourced revenues for 2024, placing it among the top 10 provinces nationwide with the highest collections, according to the Department of Finance–Bureau of Local Government Finance.
Iloilo ranked 10th out of 82 provinces in total local income, which includes real property tax, business tax, fees and charges, and economic enterprise collections for calendar year 2024.
The recognition was awarded during the 2025 Conference of Assessors, Treasurers, and Technical Personnel, where Iloilo also received multiple performance awards from the Bureau of Local Government Finance.
The Provincial Treasurer’s Office and Provincial Assessor’s Office were cited for their efficiency and growth in revenue generation.
Among the province’s key awards were:
● 1st Place – Highest Collection Efficiency in Four Locally Sourced Revenues (102%)
● 1st Place – Highest Locally Sourced Revenue in Real Property Tax (PHP 438.58 million)
● 1st Place – Highest Collection Efficiency in Real Property Tax (106%)

● 2nd Place – Highest Revenue in Economic Enterprise (PHP 656.83 million)
● 3rd Place – Highest Collection Efficiency in Fees and Charges (101%)
The provincial government also posted significant year-over-year growth—17% in economic enterprise income and 16% in fees and charges—signaling improved fiscal management and robust economic activity.
Governor Arthur Defensor Jr. received the awards during the October 20 flag-raising ceremony and praised the treasurer and assessor’s offices for their contributions.
“These achievements reflect our collective commitment to excellent fiscal performance and responsible local governance,” the provincial government said in a statement.
“Through our MoRProGRes Iloilo vision, we continue to strengthen our capacity to generate resources that directly support programs and services for the people.”
The Bureau of Local Government Finance annually recognizes local government units with outstanding fiscal performance based on efficiency, growth, and compliance indicators under the Local Government Code.
