Iloilo City has been named a national finalist in the 2025 Presidential Award for Child-Friendly Municipalities and Cities under the Highly Urbanized City (HUC) category.
Mayor Raisa Treñas-Chu confirmed the recognition in a Facebook post on Friday.
“Ginapabugal ta gid ang aton syudad bilang National Finalist under the Highly Urbanized City (HUC) Category sa 2025 Presidential Award for Child-Friendly Municipalities and Cities—isa ka daku nga bugal samtang padayon kita sa pagpanikasog nga mangin safe kag nurturing ang kabuhi sang aton pinalangga nga mga kabataan,” she wrote.
The Presidential Award for Child-Friendly Municipalities and Cities is given annually by the Council for the Welfare of Children (CWC) to recognize local government units that implement policies, programs, and services promoting children’s rights to survival, development, protection, and participation.
