The public not belonging to priority group A prescribed by the Department of Health (DOH) can now avail of the free COVID-19 jabs from the Iloilo City government by August 2, 2021.
Mayor Jerry Treñas announced Tuesday evening that the city’s vaccination rollout will be open for all by August 2.
This means that the city residents who are not medical frontliners, senior citizens, persons with co-morbidities, uniformed personnel, or economic frontliners can register and get vaccinated.
According to Treñas, the 17,000 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines arriving in August will be given to all who wants to avail.
“By August 2, we will start inoculating 17,000 Ilonggos from the vaccines the city has purchased. The AstraZeneca vaccines we procured are arriving in batches and will be open to the general public,” he said in a statement on Thursday evening.
The city targets to vaccinate 450,000 Ilonggos to achieve herd immunity.
As of July 21, 2021, a total 29,612 individuals have been fully vaccinated with Covid-19 vaccines while 113,934 received their first dose of Covid-19 vaccines. (ERS)
