Iloilo City police set up 30 Undas assistance desks
By Jennifer P. Rendon
ILOILO CITY — Police assistance is now within reach for residents and visitors during the observance of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day on Nov. 1 and 2.
The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) announced Thursday, Oct. 29, that it had established 30 police assistance desks (PADs) in strategic locations across the city to ensure public safety during Undas 2026.
“This is to ensure that police assistance is readily available to residents and visitors during Undas 2026,” ICPO director Col. Wilbert Parilla said.
The PADs will serve as accessible assistance points at cemeteries, transport terminals, seaports, and shopping malls.
The desks are intended to provide immediate assistance, address public concerns, and help maintain peace and order throughout the observance of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.
Police personnel will be stationed at these desks to assist the public and respond to emergencies.
The 30 PADs are distributed among the city’s 10 police stations, with one assigned to Iloilo City Police Station (ICPS) 1, four to ICPS 2, six to ICPS 3, two to ICPS 4, and three to ICPS 5.
Meanwhile, ICPS 6 will operate four assistance desks, ICPS 7 will have three, ICPS 8 will have two, ICPS 9 will have three, and ICPS 10 will have two.
In addition to the PADs, the ICPO will intensify police visibility through foot and mobile patrols, checkpoints, traffic management, and covert operations.
A Reactionary Standby Support Force will also be maintained to respond promptly to emergencies, with coordination among medical teams and other emergency responders to ensure timely assistance.
Parilla said security preparations would cover 19 cemeteries, consisting of 10 public and nine private burial grounds, along with three wharves and seven transport terminals across Iloilo City.
The security measures complement Executive Order No. 103, Series of 2026, which establishes guidelines for cemetery visits, vending activities, and public safety during Undas.
The order prohibits certain activities in cemeteries, including drinking alcohol, gambling, and using excessively loud sound equipment, while restricting unauthorized firearms and other prohibited items.
“Our Police Assistance Desks are here to serve you. Nakaantabay ang inyong kapulisan upang magbigay ng agarang tulong at matiyak ang ligtas, mapayapa, at maayos na paggunita sa Undas 2026. Your safety is our priority,” Parilla added.
The public is encouraged to approach police personnel at the nearest PAD for emergencies, security concerns, or other assistance.
Residents and visitors may also seek assistance through the national emergency hotline 911, the ICPO mobile hotline at 0908-377-0194, or its landline at (033) 335-0299.
