The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) was named this year’s best city police office during the celebration of the 124th Police Service Anniversary.
ICPO received a rating of 83.52 percent to top its category.
The Police Regional Office–Cordillera Administrative Region was named best police regional office, while the Cagayan Police Provincial Office won under the best provincial police office category.
Other awardees include the Eastern Police District, Tuguegarao City Police Station, Taytay Municipal Police Station, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 4A, 2nd Cagayan Provincial Mobile Force Company, and Santiago City Mobile Force Company.
The PNP Finance Service was named best national administrative support unit, while the Anti-Cybercrime Group was recognized as the best national operational support unit.
Meanwhile, two areas in Western Visayas are also set to receive special awards.
The Iloilo City Government won in the highly urbanized city category, while Barangay Semirara in Caluya, Antique was chosen at the barangay level.
Iloilo City reportedly bested Zamboanga City and Pasig City in the final round.
In selecting Iloilo City, the Philippine National Police cited its strong collaboration with the local police.
According to ICPO, the city government provided about PHP1.55 million worth of IT equipment, furniture, air-conditioning units, and decibel meters in 2024.
It also turned over 80 assault rifles, 250 radio battery packs, Toyota Hilux patrol units, and a SWAT van.
Since 2019, the city government has provided over PHP600 million worth of aid to ICPO.
