The “Free Walking Tour” which features a tour in the different tourist sites from City Hall facing Plaza Libertad passing Calle Real to Casa Real at Capitol grounds in City Proper officially kicked off last Thursday, June 2, 2022.
According to Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas, the first batch of participants were able to increase their awareness on the city’s cultural heritage.
“Padayon ang aton pag-promote sang turismo sa ciudad! On our first day, we were able to create awareness and appreciation of the city’s rich cultural heritage and history,” he said in his social media page.
The free walking tour is open to interested individuals and they can register by contacting 09120104334 or jhonalyn21alapar@gmail.com.
Each tour guide can accommodate ten participants.
The mayor has encouraged Ilonggos to avail of the free walking tour to support tourism promotions of the city and help the economy recover from the Covid-19 pandemic.
