The intensified drug campaign started at around 12:01 a.m. on April 21 with the arrest of a 37-year-old woman and her 64-year-old mother in Barangay Simon Ledesma, Jaro.
Members of the ICPO City Drug Enforcement Unit seized 70 grams of suspected shabu with a standard drug price of PHP 476,000.
At 5:10 p.m., personnel of Iloilo City Police Station 10 served a warrant of arrest for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, against alias Errol, 36, of Barangay Bolilao, Mandurriao.
Seized during the operation were 23 sachets of suspected shabu worth PHP 680,000.
Before the warrant was served, Errol was collared in a buy-bust operation for selling one sachet of suspected shabu.
More than four hours later, members of ICPS7 arrested a 22-year-old suspect and seized 5 grams of shabu worth PHP 34,000.
At 10:05 p.m., personnel of ICPS9 apprehended alias Sam, 42, of Barangay San Vicente, Jaro.
At 2:15 a.m. the following day, members of the ICPO City Drug Enforcement Unit arrested a 36-year-old sari-sari store owner.
Confiscated from alias Harry were 21 plastic sachets and a knot-tied plastic sachet containing suspected shabu weighing about 160 grams and valued at PHP 1,088,000.
At 8:47 p.m., ICPS4 personnel arrested two street-level pushers in a buy-bust operation in Barangay West Habog-Habog, Molo.
Members of ICPS6 also arrested a student at 10:11 p.m. in Barangay San Jose, Arevalo.
Alias Minik, 21, of Barangay Sto. Niño, Dumalag, Capiz, was found with shabu worth PHP 20,400.
Col. Wilbert Parilla, Iloilo City police chief, commended the operating units for continuing their “quest in cleansing our streets of the menace of illegal drugs.”
“Let these daily accomplishments fuel our drive to protect and serve our people,” he added.
All arrested individuals are now under police custody and will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
