The Iloilo provincial government has deferred the collection of parking fees at the Iloilo Provincial Capitol parking building, originally set to begin on Oct. 1, due to the absence of an occupancy permit.
Provincial Legal Officer Dennis Ventilacion told Aksyon Radyo Iloilo that fees cannot be imposed until the city government issues the required permit.
He added that the provincial government must first fulfill all conditions, including passing an ordinance authorizing the collection and securing the contractor’s formal turnover of the facility.
The Office of the Provincial Treasurer had earlier announced that parking fees would take effect on Oct. 1, with separate rates for reserved and regular parking slots.
Proposed monthly fees for reserved parking include PHP 7,000 for the first level, PHP 6,000 for the second and third levels, and PHP 5,000 for the fourth level.
Fifteen-day rates are set at PHP 4,000 for the first level, PHP 3,500 for the second and third levels, and PHP 3,000 for the fourth level.
For regular parking on the fifth, sixth, and roof deck levels, the rate is PHP 60.00 for the first three hours, with an additional PHP 10.00 per hour until 11 p.m.
An overnight fee of PHP 500.00 will be charged from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. the next day.
Flat rates include PHP 120.00 for day parking from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., and PHP 120.00 for overnight parking from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.
The six-story parking building, which was provisionally opened in May, can accommodate 28 to 38 vehicles per floor, or a total of 168 to 228 vehicles.
