Illegal gun, grenade seized in Capiz town

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Unlicensed firearm and a hand grenade were recovered by police in a buy-bust operation Sunday afternoon at Brgy. Salgan Maayon, Capiz.

Rex Dizon, 42, of Brgy. Tapulang Maayon town was arrested by members of the Maayon Municipal Police Station and Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) of Capiz Police Provincial Office.

Recovered from Dizon were a homemade shotgun with 3 ammunitions, a hand grenade and P4,000 marked money.

Dizon failed to present valid permits for the gun and grenade.

The suspect is detained at Maayon Municipal Police Station.

He will be charged for violation of Republic Act 10591(Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) and RA 9516 for illegal possession of explosives.
